June 2025 Update

It feels as if the baby is taking his (or hers) first steps, although on wobbly legs. We’re happy to report that Hope Northwest Church officially held its first church service on Sunday, June 29 in a location other than Nick and Jessica’s home.
It’s been a long time coming and as most of you know, a path requiring much prayer, patience and endurance as we’ve had to overcome a myriad of challenges, roadblocks and hurdles.
Here are a few of the before and after images of our new home. We could not have made it this far without the blessings, prayers and financial support from all of you (as well as the IKEA, Goodwill, Costco, Home Depot and Habitat for Humanity Stores).
We’d also like to acknowledge and thank Mark Jacobs who has given us many hours of advice helping us design and install our audio and video system. We’re no longer having to print our lyrics for services. We are now able to project them on to the wall along with Nick’s sermon notes.
We are also blessed to have one of our congregants, Jacob Daugherty, donate the entire Apple computer system (including monitor, keyboard and mouse) to drive this system, and then offer his expertise to install and tie the entire package together.
As we look forward to moving into our “toddler” stage, we hope to add projection screens,
soundproofing and a simple camera system which will allow us to live-stream our services and add Nick’s sermons to our website.
Our obvious prayer now is for God’s increase in the Harvest. The soil here is very hard with most people opposed to any form of religion. But we know God is faithful and we live on His promise of “a plentiful” Harvest.
We’d also like to invite any of you to visit if you’re passing through the Northwest. We’ve been blessed to have a few Hope Chapel members join us to our delight. Their presence reminds us of how much we miss our family and friends. Yet, it also reminds us as Jesus describes in Matthew 19:29 that we seek a greater reward.
We’d also like to introduce our new ministries. Dale’s vision for a foodbank is slowly taking shape in the creation of Harvest & Hope for those in need. We’ve also expanded our Women’s and Men’s Bible Studies which both have seven+ members and meet in the Church building on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings respectively. Our other ministry is Financial Counseling. There seems to be a great need for helping people understand the Biblical principles of faithfully shepherding the resources that God has entrusted to them.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Nick’s substitute teaching job at a local Christian high school ended in June but he has now been asked to return as a part-time Bible teacher this Fall. He and Jessica are also expecting the addition of a new member to our congregation as they near her due date for a third child in September.
Finally, we’d like to thank you again for the many prayers and financial support you have bestowed upon us. We could not have come this far without either of them. The blessings and investment you’ve made in Hope Northwest is producing fruit, slowly but surely.
As always, we pray for all of you and ask God to continue to bless you and enrich you in every way possible to His glory and to the advancement of His Kingdom.
God Bless,
Nick, Jessica, Zion, Olive, Dale and Stephanie Turner
